THE HOUSE OF ANTIQUITIES · IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Privacy & correspondence.

This notice explains how information provided through our customer enquiry service is handled. The service is provided by The House of Antiquities. Before public launch, the proprietor must confirm and publish the full legal business identity and postal contact address here.

What we collect

We collect your name, email address, the subject and content of your message, any optional object or order reference, and follow-up correspondence. We also record dates and ticket status. To help prevent abuse we briefly retain pseudonymous request-rate counters.

Why we process this information

We use these details to answer your enquiry, manage correspondence, and where relevant provide information about a prospective purchase or an existing order. Our lawful basis is normally legitimate interests in responding to genuine correspondence, or steps relating to a potential or existing contract. We do not use enquiry submissions as marketing sign-ups.

How your information is stored

Customer tickets are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database associated with our website. Administrators can access messages through a restricted management system. Cloudflare acts as a service provider and may process information outside the UK under its data-protection arrangements. If optional email notifications are enabled, the email provider also processes the necessary notification information.

Access, corrections and deletion

You can request access to, correction or deletion of your correspondence, subject to any legal reasons for retaining it. You can make a request through the Contact the House page. We review enquiries for deletion when they are no longer required, taking account of any unresolved transaction or legal obligations. A specific retention schedule should be confirmed by the proprietor prior to launch.

Security and complaints

Customer lookups require a ticket reference and the email address used to create it. Website traffic is protected by HTTPS; staff administration also requires a separate secret. If you remain concerned about the handling of your data, you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
