CUSTOMER CARE · YOUR RIGHTS

Returns & refunds.

Considered service for curious collectors. Every object has a story worth telling.

A fair and straightforward policy

Each exhibit is selected and prepared with care. The rules below distinguish a change of mind from an item arriving damaged, faulty or not as described. They do not affect your statutory rights.

01 / CHANGE OF MIND

14 days to cancel

For most online purchases, you can cancel without giving a reason within 14 days after receiving the goods. Tell us by contacting the House or using the model cancellation wording below. After notifying us, you have another 14 days to send the goods back.

Return postage is paid by the customer for a change of mind, provided this was explained before purchase. Please choose a tracked, suitably protected service.

02 / YOUR REFUND

Full eligible payment refunded

For a valid change-of-mind cancellation, we refund the purchase price and any standard outbound delivery charge you paid. Our included UK postage expense is not deducted from the refund. We may make a lawful deduction for loss of value caused by handling beyond what is needed to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

We refund within 14 days after receiving the goods back, or receiving evidence of their return, whichever is earlier. Refunds are issued using the original payment method unless otherwise agreed.

03 / DAMAGE OR FAULT

If something is wrong

If an exhibit arrives damaged, is faulty, or has been materially misdescribed, please tell us promptly, ideally with photos of the item and packaging. We will arrange the remedy required by UK consumer law, including a full refund where applicable.

We bear the reasonable return cost when goods do not conform to the contract. Your rights for faulty or misdescribed goods are not limited to the 14-day cancellation period.

04 / ANTIQUITIES & CONDITION

Objects with a history

Historic objects naturally exhibit age-related surface characteristics such as patination, mineral deposits, wear and corrosion. Where these characteristics are accurately shown or described before purchase, they are not, by themselves, faults.

However, this never excuses an undisclosed fault, transit damage, or an item not matching its description. Please return objects carefully packed; the original packaging is helpful but not mandatory.

Simple example

A £74.95 Roman arrowhead display includes UK delivery. If you change your mind within the cancellation period and return it in accordance with your statutory rights, the eligible refund is £74.95, without a £6 outbound-postage deduction. You pay to send it back. If the item is faulty or damaged in transit, we cover reasonable return arrangements and provide the applicable legal remedy.

How to request a return

Use our Customer Care enquiry form and include your name, order number, and whether this is a change-of-mind cancellation or an issue with the goods. We will provide return instructions. The enquiry form requires activation of our Cloudflare ticket database before launch.
